Apothecary Art Stamp Set

I just love this new set--Apothecary Art--in the Occassion mini catalog, and the new lable framelets die with its various sizes is a perfect companion accessory for this stamp set.  I embraced the polka dots of this particular image when I embossed it in white and used the polka dot embossing folder on the Elegant Eggplant frame as well as the whisper white card front.  I finished it off with some black polk dot ribbon I recently purchased from the Stampin' Up! clearance rack.  Enjoy!

Sneak Peak Sprinkled Expressions

Sale-A-Bration begins on January 24, and here is a great set called Sprinkled Expressions that you can get free with a $50 purchase.  It includes a flower, a heart and this star along with some greetings.  I created the shiny textured background with the houndstooth embossing folder along with aluminum foil glued to whisper white card stock. It makes a great background with lots of  shine to it.  Here's the details.  Enjoy!

Stamping 411 Challenge

I love having the time to participate in some of the great online card challenges, and summer is my time to do that so I turned to one of my favorites today.  The Stamping 411 website is a great inspiration for me so here is my take on this week's challenge.  I used Whisper White, Real Red and Basic Black along with the new Delicate Doilies stamp set which will be in the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog.  I embossed white on black and black on white and added an antique brad and a 1/8" real red taffeta bow for this one.  I also used the Polka Dot embossing folder for the background and finished it off with Happy Birthday from Tiny Tiny Wishes embossed in black and punched with the Word Window Punch.  Enjoy!

Big Shot Project No. 2

This is the second project from my Big Shot Class I held last night.  The new Framed Tulip Embossing Folder is just beautiful, and I combined it with the new Baby Blossoms stamp set and the Springtime Vintage designer series paper to create this card.  All of these products are in the new Occasions Mini Catalog.  The flower are just cut out from one of the pieces of paper.  I used Not Quite Navy card stock and ink...simple and clean but I really liked how this card turned out.  You'll be seeing more samples using the Baby Blossoms and Springtime Vintage paper in the near future.  They make a great combination.  Watch for Projects 3-5 in the next few days.  Enjoy!

Happy New Year

It's been a while since I posted last, but I am having a Big Shot workshop tonight and wanted to share one of the projects we are going to make.  The rest will follow over the next few days.  For this one, I used the brayer to cover the texture plate with poppy parade ink before I ran it through the Big Shot.  I love the effect it creates.  The color combination of poppy parade and concord crushed worked well for this, and I love the Friends Never Fade stamp set.  I added some dazzling diamonds glitter to the two flowers.  Enjoy and watch for more samples in the days to come.

Box It Up

I found a tutorial for this cute little box on the right at Tina's My Therapy, My Creations so I made one using some Designer Series Paper from a few years ago when Tangerine Tango was an In-Color. I then decided to increase the size to accommodate a little bigger gift or more candy!





Here are my changes from Tina's tutorial for the larger box .

Start with cardboard covered with cardstock at 4 3/4" by 4 3/4".
Use the large scallop die to cut out the two large circle scallops.
Cut the designer paper at 11 1/4" by 2 1/2" and 11" by 2".
Score at 1/2" lengthwise and cut as outlined on the tutorial.
Cut the inner circles with the Circle Scissors Cutter using the 12th line from the center.
Adhere the large scallop circles to the designer series paper circles using crystal effects.

The Just Believe stamp set continues to be front and center on my stamping table so I decided to try a different color combination to showcase this set.

Upsy Daisy--Two for One--CCMC110 and Curtain Call Challenge Act 42

I decided to combine the color scheme from Stacy's Curtain Call Color Challenge and the layout from Create with Connie and Mary to make this card. Once I used my markers to create the floral image on the very vanilla cardstock, I used the versamark pad to ink up the entire circle, sprinkled clear embossing powder with dazzling diamonds glitter in it and used the heat gun to set it. I was really pleased how it turned out and thank both these websites for their inspiration.

Lovely As a Tree

I am using one of my all-time favorite stamp sets today--Lovely As a Tree. It has been in the Stampin' Up! catalog for about five years now, and it is one of the best sets ever. Today I chose the layout from Mary Jo Price-Williams' Monday Lunchtime Sketch and decided to go with a holiday theme. I guess it's time to begin thinking about Christmas card ideas so I won't be rushing at the last minute. Enjoy!

I really had a great time making this card for the Curtain Call color challenge. It's a color combination I have not used before but will certainly use again. I love using this set when I have time to cut out all the flowers and highlight the beautiful details with layering and dimensionals.

2010-2012 In Colors
